Caitlin + Joe ~ Northport, New York Engagement Session

I met up with Caitlin + Joe on Saturday to photograph their engagement session in Northport Harbor right up the street from my office. They love hanging out in town and by the harbor, and Caitlin told me today that her parents had their wedding photos taken at the gazebo by the water when they got married! So Northport was the perfect place to shoot their session! We were scheduled for a 3:00 shoot, but the weather was calling for rain so Caitlin moved her hair and makeup appointments earlier and we were able to start the shoot at noon before the rain came! Caitlin and Joe are moving in the next few weeks to Wisconsin, so unfortunately we couldn’t reschedule to a sunny day, but we did get beautiful even lighting with the cloud cover we had! It happened to be very cold by the water so after shooting on the docks, we walked around town a bit, and then hopped into Sand City {a local beer tasting room} to finish up the shoot! We showed up unannounced and they were nice enough to let us take a few photos there! It was the perfect place to warm up and have Joe grab a beer to celebrate the end of the shoot! I had a lot of fun photographing these two and I can’t wait until their wedding next year!

Congratulations again Caitlin + Joe! See you next October!

Sam + Dino ~ Oyster Bay, New York Engagement Session ~ Planting Fields Arboretum

I photographed Sam at my past couple Sam and Bill’s wedding where she was a bridesmaid. Sam contacted me as soon as she had her date booked, in her words “because I knew we had to have you!” Which is so incredibly flattering! I met Dino for the first time at their shoot on Friday afternoon, and he was just as sweet as Sam. We ended up having a gorgeous sun kissed afternoon, but I can definitely feel the chill of winter is on its way! We walked around the gorgeous grounds of Planting Fields, which if you follow me you know I love! These two were so cute with each other and that made them so easy to photograph! I absolutely love the images from their session and I cant wait to work with these two again next June!

Congratulations again Sam + Dino! See you soon!

Lauren + Tommy ~ Southold, New York Wedding ~ Peconic Bay Yacht Club

Lauren and Tommy planned their nautical themed November wedding to be held at Peconic Bay Yacht Club. They knew a November wedding on the water wasn’t going to end up being a 90 degree day, but we definitely didn’t expect temperatures to drop into the 20s or the high winds that came the morning of their wedding last Friday! It was the coldest day of fall so far, but you would never know how cold it was from looking at the photos! The beach and the water are both so special to Lauren and Tommy. Tommy’s family owns a fishing station in Point Lookout, where Tommy and many of his groomsmen (and even Lauren’s brother too!) have worked over the years. They both grew up in towns on the water. Lauren is from the North Shore of Long Island, and Tommy from the South Shore. Growing up Lauren spent countless summers on Shelter Island, only a 10 minute ferry ride to their wedding venue! Everything they planned, all of their nautical and personal touches, made their wedding so unique and simply them! They incorporated mementos from Lauren’s grandparents in her bouquet and dress, a surprise fishing boat for Tommy that was filled with beer in their reception room, French food at the cocktail hour that honored Lauren studying in France, hand made buoy table numbers, and a watercolor painting of their fur babies (who they love!) as their signature cocktail menu! I had an absolutely amazing time documenting this gorgeous day!

Congratulations Lauren and Tommy! Here’s to many happy years together! Hope you are enjoying Thailand!

Jess + Peter ~ Oyster Bay, New York Engagement Session ~ Planting Fields Arboretum

I met Jess and Peter for the first time last night at their Planting Fields engagement session. When we got out of the car and started walking into the park, I saw this amazing location with perfect light for the first photo {below!}. It just so happened to be that they were standing in the middle of the parking lot for the photo but you would never know! And its one of my favorite images of the night! We walked around the grounds and enjoyed the beautiful crisp afternoon! I had a great time working with these two, and I cannot wait until their wedding next October!

Congratulations again on your engagement Jess and Peter! See you next year!

Jill + Matt ~ New York City Engagement Session ~ Top of the Rock ~ Central Park

I have been so looking forward to Jill and Matt’s engagement session! Jill told me before she even got engaged that she was going to hire us for her wedding photography {which by the way is the nicest compliment!} I photographed her cousin Tara and Paul’s wedding last year where Jill was Maid of Honor, and now that Matt popped the question, its Jill’s turn to get married, with the help of Tara as her Maid of Honor! Jill and Matt had envisioned a formal engagement shoot at Top of the Rock in NYC which I had photographed at, or even visited! It was so much fun to check out the space and the GORGEOUS views of Central Park and the Empire State Building! After a quick outfit change when we left Top of the Rock, we headed to Central Park where Jill and Matt spend a lot of nights after work, walking around and decompressing after long work days. Being that they spend so much time there, Matt thought it was the perfect place to pop the question, so on one of their walks one day, he got down on one knee and proposed as their family watched from afar! So it was the perfect choice for their second location for their engagement session! I had an absolute blast working with these two. I love them both and cant wait for their big day next October!!

Congratulations again Jill and Matt! See you next year!!
