Lexi + Christina ~ Woodbury, New York Wedding ~ Fox Hollow

This past weekend was Lexi and Christina’s wedding day. When they booked with us in May of 2016 I felt like their wedding was a lifetime away. But time passes so quickly and their wedding was here before we knew it! I met Christina at her sisters wedding a few years ago. I was photographing her details in the bedroom and Christina came in and commented on my Holdfast double camera holster. We started chatting, and in a moment of me actually being funny, she asked me if I shoot weddings often. I told her it was my first one and I hope I do a good job! {hah!} She believed me for only a few seconds, but it was long enough to make me happy and then we both died laughing. Its still one of my favorite memories with Christina! I met Lexi briefly during family photos at that same wedding, but officially met her at our consultation after they got engaged!! Over the last few years our business relationship has turned into such a wonderful friendship. Between all our brunches/dinners and even being invited to their bachelorette party in Ft Lauderdale {which Brittany and I completely crashed!} we have had so much fun getting to know these two. Being at their wedding on Friday and documenting their most special day was such an honor. It honestly didn’t even feel like work. It was a beautiful day, and so much fun. There were so many parts of the day that I loved, but my favorite was their first look. Both of their reactions to seeing each other for the first time was so. beautiful. Planning a wedding can be so stressful at times, but what it really comes down to is you are marrying the one person in this world who makes you the happiest. These two make each other so happy and it shows.

Congratulations to my Harry Potter loving, hysterical friends. Heres to many years of love and laughter together!

Michele + Jon ~ Winter Greenhouse Engagement Session ~ Planting Fields Arboretum, Oyster Bay, New York

I met Michele and Jon yesterday at Planting Fields Arboretum’s Camellia House for their engagement session. Normally we only shoot engagement sessions from May through November so that we can have comfortable conditions for the session, but occasionally we schedule a shoot indoors in the winter, and the greenhouse at Planting Fields is the perfect spot to shoot a cozy engagement session when its freezing out! Walking into the greenhouse feels like you are walking right into spring. Lush greenery, flowers blooming, and the perfect temperature made for a comfortable and fun engagement shoot in the dead of winter! Michele and Jon were so easy to photograph and so fun to be around. Jon is a goofball who loves to have fun and make light of everything while Michele is more structured. They both balance each other out so well and photographing their connection was magical. At the end of their session they decided to brave the cold for a few quick minutes outside so we could take advantage of the beautiful golden light before sunset and I’m so glad we did! I had an amazing time shooting these two and I cannot wait for their wedding this September!

Congratulations again Michele + Jon! See you soon!

Gina + Kevin ~ Setauket, New York Wedding ~ Old Field Club

When I first met Gina and Kevin, I knew that it would be amazing to work with these two. They are both so laid back and weren’t interested in planning a traditional wedding. They chose one of my favorite venues, the Old Field Club in Setauket to hold their ceremony and reception. I absolutely love the high ceilings and the exposed beams there. I also love the cozy feel of the venue. Especially on an absolutely freezing day like we had on Saturday! They had the fireplace on and it was so nice to be inside and warm on a day like Saturday. They also decided not to have a florist and instead Gina carried a paper bouquet, and the bridesmaids carried lanterns which I loved! They also decided against a traditional wedding cake and had a gorgeous display of donuts for dessert! Gina’s dress and veil were made of the softest fabric, and were grey instead of white! I absolutely loved it. The groomsmen wore pins instead of boutonnieres that had the family crest on them, and their invitation was black which matched Ginas black shoes! One of my favorite moments was when they exchanged cards together after their first look. It was so sweet! Everything was so uniquely planned and the day really reflected their personalities! I also loved the German cup that they had at their reception that allowed them to drink at the same time, and their gorgeous and unique engagement ring and wedding bands. I love it when my couples make their weddings truly their own!! Even though we were in a deep freeze, they braved the cold for a few minutes before their ceremony for some outdoor portraits, and we were able to shoot so many beautiful photos at Danfords where Kevin got ready as well as at Old Field before their guests arrived. It was such a great day and I am so excited to share these photos with you!

Congratulations again Gina + Kevin! Heres to many love filled years together!

Danielle + Sean ~ Woodbury, New York Wedding ~ Fox Hollow

Danielle and Sean’s wedding was the perfect winter wedding. It had snowed the morning of their wedding until right before their first look, which left the perfect dusting of fresh white snow for all of their photos! Not to mention how much I loved all of their details including Danielles gorgeous Paloma Blanca bridal gown, their custom engraved ring box, their wreath chair accents, and their naked funfetti wedding cake! My absolute favorite part of their day was their first look. The emotions on Sean’s face as he waited to see his bride was only upstaged by his reaction when he turned around and saw her! These two truly glow when they look at each other. I absolutely love their laid back and fun personalities, and had the best time working with them and their friends and family this past weekend. They were our last wedding of 2017, and it was the perfect wedding to wrap up our year!

Congratulations again Danielle and Sean! Heres to many years of love together!
